Texas Hand Me Downs

Description
From me, the author,
This book was written and illustrated by two long standing members of the over-the-hill gang.
Like any memories, this book is rather unorganized. There is no central plot, no main character, just random short stories about just plain folks, survivors of life. The stories are hand-me-downs from various distant relatives, close family, and an assortment of quirky friends, so I cannot vouch for their accuracy. Certainly, I cannot vouch for the accuracy of my own sketchy memory.
Most of these stories take place in central Texas during the 20th century and the first part of the 21st century. The stories are very loosely collected into groups by the people, places, or things in the story that seemed important to me. The dates given with each story are just my best guess as to when a story took place. The dates may give you some sense of the time the story took place, but don’t hold me to it.
Some stories may make you sad and others may make you smile. Hopefully, all of the stories will make you recall how quirky humans can be and still remain likeable, even loveable. Hopefully the stories will make you feel like you know some people in Texas.
It is kind of a nightstand book, better suited to 5-minute scans rather than a single, cover-to-cover deep, thought-provoking read. It is like listening to me, your over-the-hill neighbor, reminiscing over a once-hot cup of coffee. As you read, you can let your mind wander through your own past experiences or maybe dream of future ones. No one else will ever know, and I will not tell.
